Indy

Can't wait.

Knight Rider

Ok, NBC is doing a remake movie/pilot of Knight Rider. I have to say that the original show was one of my favorites as a kid. I mean, who wouldn't like a show about a talking car that could do just about anything?

Well I came across this photo today of the new KITT.

Yep, its a Shelby Mustang. The car looks really cool but I don't know how I feel about the change. I mean isn't KITT supposed to be a Trans Am?

We'll see.

Notes

Ok, most of you know that all of my "Notes" on Facebook are actually posts on my website. But sometimes you can't see the videos or pictures that may be a part of the post in Facebook. So if you're reading this in Facebook right now I would encourage you to click the link above this note that says view original post.

And if you want to check out my website you can do it here.

Big Bang Theory

Ok, here is a show that Crystal and I think is pretty funny most of the time. Since there is a writer's strike, who knows when we'll see more new episodes.

You can check out more on Youtube. And I think you can watch episodes over at CBS.

Cold

I have rediscovered that I don't really like the cold weather. I'd much rather see a temperature of 75 and clear skies.

And man, I forgot how windy Kansas really is.

Ok

Let me just get this out there. I wasn't too happy that KU lost to Mizzou on Saturday night. I really don't think that Mizzou is that much better than Kansas. But they came out on top when it mattered.

I'm just glad that Mizzou fans can have their fun right now throwing it in our faces that they won...but watch out Tiger fan, the team that has already beaten you once is coming up Saturday. And if you lose this game, there goes the national title hopes.

I can't believe I'm going to cheer for Oklahoma Saturday night.

Christmas

Last night we spent some family time getting the Christmas tree put up. It turned out to be a pretty good night together. First we ordered a pizza, picked up some slushes from Sonic and spent the night getting the ornaments out and putting them on the tree.

Crystal worked on the lights while I helped the kids.

It's funny how this always turns out. Most of the ornaments are on the bottom half of the tree.

I think this is truly the first year I let Alexis and Caden put all of them on the tree by themselves. It was fun.

Now I just get to help spread them out.

Day After

Well it's the day after Thanksgiving and we're just hanging out playing the Wii. It's been a good holiday spending time with Crystal's family.

It was also great to see the Cowboys go 10-1 for the first time in their history!

Anyway, here are some pics from tonight: Uncle Mike and Uncle Eric.

We're heading home tomorrow.

Made it

We made it to St. Louis for Thanksgiving. More details later. But for now check out this photo I took of my brother-in-law Chad.

Big Birthday Weekend

Well this past Sunday my son turned the big 4 years old! We had a great party for him on Saturday. He wanted to have a Spider-man party. So everything was Spider-man from the cupcake/cake to the plates and napkins and even all the way to my shirt. Yep, I was wearing my Spider-man shirt in honor of his big day. He really had a great time. Here are some pics from the party.

I can't believe he's growing up so fast. Now we have less than 30 days until Alexis turns 7. Wow.

Pre-Birthday Present

Here is something my daughter made for her brother. She decorated not only a cookie for him but also the plate and even a napkin! (Sorry you can't see the napkin in the picture.)

He loved the cookie. I told him he didn't have to eat the plate. We even had frosting all over his new shirt.

I was so excited when the iPhone came out and I really love my MacBook Pro and iPod. So I have to admit that this new iBible really looks cool!

New/Old U2 song

Check out this video of Bono talking about a new/old U2 song titled "Wave of Sorrow" that will be on their new remastered deluxe version of Joshua Tree.

The album comes out November 20th. Pretty cool.

Feed the World

You have to check out this cool website. You can actually help feed the world by playing a simple game. And it's a game that will increase your vocabulary, writing skills and maybe even your job performance!

I read about it on another blog and I must admit that it can be pretty addictive. But I guess it's all for a good cause.

So check out www.freerice.com right now. Go on, it won't hurt you.

Please say it isn't so....

I've heard some disturbing rumors about the new season of 24. Could it be that it won't start until 2009 because of the strike? Concerned? Check out here and here.

Branson

Well we've made it home from our Branson trip. So here is a recap of our final days in Branson.

We spent a lot of time at the outlet malls in Branson. I must admit that I love going into the Gap Outlet and the Nike Factory Store. I could do without the rest though.

We also went to a show that afternoon. We saw the New Shanghai Acrobats. It was a pretty cool show. I can't believe some of the things these people could do. And most of them were pretty young!

Here is a picture of all of us sitting on the third row waiting for the show to start.

I was also the BIG winner of the giveaway before the show started. I was able to walk away with a free ticket to another show. Yeah, I know I'm the lucky one.

We wrapped up the night playing games together. And I must say, the guys totally dominated the girls. I even have a picture of us winning at Disney Scene It.

On the final day we stopped in Springfield on the way home. I have to say that it was a bit strange being back there. I drove Crystal by SMS and we even stopped by our first apartment. Crazy.

Overall the time we spent in Branson was great. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the staff.

But before I go, here is one more picture of our youth pastor...don't really know what's in that bottle....

Our First Day

Here is a quick recap of our first day in Branson:

We rolled into the Springfield, Branson area and had to stop to eat lunch at the World Famous Home of the Throwed Rolls -- Lambert's. And I have to say we ate a LOT!

Next it was off to Silver Dollar City to check out all of the Christmas lights and shows. But I was really surprised to find that they've added some really cool roller coasters to the park that make it really a lot of fun. But, yes of course there were the lights and we checked out the production of "A Christmas Carol."

And finally here is something interesting I caught on film. It's our youth pastor Bryce coming out of the wrong restroom?

That's enough for today...we're seeing a show and doing some shopping today.

Reflections

I woke up early this morning here in Branson. So I decided to come out to our little covered balcony and just sit to meditate and pray. As I sit out here and watch the sun come up over the hills I'm just reminded of God's goodness. I'm thankful for what He's done in my life. I realize more than ever how much I don't deserve His love and grace. And looking out over the hills and valleys I'm just in awe of how great our God really is.

Wow, what a beautiful creation.

I don't remember the last time I was paying attention to a sunrise.

Ready to Go

We're heading to Branson, MO tomorrow morning for a pastoral team getaway. It should be pretty fun.

Lunch tomorrow is at Lambert's -- Home of the throwed rolls!
Silver Dollar City in the evening.

Friday we're heading to a show--something about Chinese acrobats.

Then shopping.

It'll be good to have some time away hanging out with the other pastoral staff.

Sunday

What a great morning we had at Evangel. My dad started a brand new series called "The Masterpiece -- Learning the art of worship." And I have to say from the beginning of the service until the end God was in the place!

And afterward we saw three more people baptized in water. That's seven people baptized in the past three weeks. That's cool!

Anyway, just thought I'd post the recap from today along with the brand new sermon opener Chris made for the series.

Halloween

My kids had a great night trick or treating. They hauled in a lot of candy. Crystal headed out with them and some friends in the neighborhood while I sat out in the driveway handing out candy. The only problem was the cold front that came through that morning, it made for kind of a chilly night. But overall the night turned out to be a lot of fun.

Yesterday I headed to Target to check out the sales on Halloween stuff. I made the comment to Crystal that we should see the sales on candy and she looked at me and pointed to the kids candy bags and said we probably had enough. Yeah, she's probably right.

Oh, here is a final shot of the kids in their costumes. Gabriella from High School Musical and Wolverine.
