Well, last weekend I spent some time out at Wheatstate Camp speaking to a group of PK's. For those of you who don't know, that's preacher's kids. And before you say anything bad about PK's remember that I am one too! Ok, now you can make your jokes.
Anyway, I thought I would post my thoughts and impressions from the trip.
First, it was out at the campgrounds that I spent many summers at as a kid. It's never been the nicest camp but it was always a place I had a lot of fun. They've improved the grounds a lot since I've been there last (like 10 years ago!) but it still has the "Wheatstate" feel.
I was able to stay in a brand new cabin just for the speakers. It was like a small hotel room, really nice. Here are some pics:
It sure beats the cabins that I stayed in as a kid. No air conditioner and we had big public bathrooms.
But one thing they forgot....to turn the hot water on. So it was a cold shower for me!
They also had a nice gift basket waiting for me in my room. And someone told them about my dots obsession:
They've even added a rock climbing wall and huge tunnel/slide/playarea in the gym. I've shown you pics of me getting ready for the wall, now here is the tunnel thing:
I have to say it was pretty impressive because it filled half of the gym. My kids would have loved it.
Outside is a covered open basketball area and two paintball fields. One was a woods course and the other more of a speed course. Pretty cool.
But there was some serious time with the students. I was the speaker at the retreat and challenged them in their relationships with others. I told them that their relationships with others reflect their relationship with God. I shared that they needed to forgive others and encourage others. And by encourage I mean, get in their business when they're drifting away.
Some guys from our church also went with me to lead worship for the weekend. So overall it was a pretty fun two days. And a pretty quick two days. Because I had the Easter Egg Hunt back here at Evangel I had to leave the retreat a little early.
So let me leave you with this final picture of our youth pastor Bryce. He's getting ready for the rock climbing wall...I think. I'd love to hear your captions to the photo.

You're a fellow Dots lover? I had no idea!
With this knowledge of our deep inner kinship, I can finally forgive you for stealing Crystal away from Chi Alpha land. ;)
